Blood or Bad Water

It is 96 degrees outside, and there is no air conditioning at school. Fans are not making a dent in the oppressive heat inside each classroom, and you are sweating profusely while you try to listen to your teacher.

You have two choices. You can:

A) Go get a drink from the water fountain, where you will discover that it tastes unbearably bad. Someone is definitely going to have to check the water quality, but it won’t get done today. At least one student will inevitably go to the nurse from making this choice.

B) Try to stick it out, and see how much thirst you can handle. If your nose starts bleeding from dehydration after your teacher is already sick of dealing with bloody noses, you will have to sit at your desk with tissues and a makeshift trash can and deal with it yourself.

Which do you choose?

My poor kids. There’s no way they were listening to me today while they weighed Options A and B to keep themselves alive. I was so tired and sweaty I barely listened to myself.
