I’m feeling more and more like a mom every day. Now that I coach softball, I keep things like band-aids and Neosporin with me, and there are always boys rummaging through my purse to find them. I bring in snacks and feed kids when they’re hungry. Today, we took our 8th graders on a career day field trip, and I was so proud of how dressed up they were that all I wanted to do was take pictures. All the boys needed their ties tied and their collars fixed, and they clumped around me to help them. It’s hilarious to step back and realize what I’m doing… I feel old.
Sidenote to the men of the world: please do not abandon your sons. When you do, the social studies teacher has to bring in ties for them to borrow, and their female math teacher has to tie them. There is something wrong with that picture. I’m just saying.
